Being and Becoming Chua Ek Kay plot

This documentary is about the controversial, influential artist Chua Ek Kay, of Singaporean descent but born in China. In the 1980s and 1990s, he evolved Chinese ink painting into new forms. He received a lot of criticism from traditional art lovers for this. Meanwhile, he also struggled with the differences between Eastern and Western aesthetics, but his persistence eventually revolutionized Singaporean art.
