Batik, Beats & Bumbu plot

This documentary follows young Dutch artists whose (fore)fathers grew up in the Dutch East Indies. They actively seek collaborations with their colleagues in Indonesia. This cultural exchange creates a modern interpretation of the cultural heritage of Indonesia and the Netherlands. This third generation cherishes Indonesian influences and deepens Indonesian traditions and customs, giving them their own interpretation.
