Barbara Rubin and the Exploding NY Underground plot
Biography of Barbara Rubin. She was a hyperactive spider in the web of the New York art scene in the late 1960s. She was buddies with both Bob Dylan and Andy Warhol, and also introduced the latter to the Velvet Underground. Once acclaimed for her unique film Christmas on Earth, this energetic muse disappeared from the annals of the artistic avant-garde. To the consternation of her artistic friends, Rubin suddenly converted to Orthodox Judaism, with the ambition to become the first female rabbi. At the same time, she also wrote to Walt Disney to support her next project.
