Ballets Russes plot

"Fame, glamour, ego, politics, money, war, love ... and dance."

Documentary about a revolutionary dance group better known as the Ballets Russes. The group originated from a group of Russian refugees who have never danced in Russia and later split into two rival dance groups. The documentary begins with its founding in 1909 by the acclaimed Serge Diaghilev, chronicling the prosperous 1930s and 1940s when the Ballets Russes toured America, to their demise in the 1950s and 1960s due to rising costs, growing egos, competition from outside and internal mismanagement.
