Babooska plot

To outsiders, the life of a circus performer is surrounded by romantic clichés and persistent prejudices. Filmmakers Tizza Covi and Rainer Frimmel joined a traveling circus for a year and discovered that the circus world is all about hard work for little money. They won the trust of 20-year-old Babooska, who lives with her parents and sisters in brightly painted but ramshackle and cramped trailers. Throughout the year they travel criss-cross through Italy with a performance in which Babooska has a hula hoop act.
