Autoluminescent: Rowland S. Howard plot
Rowland S. Howard writes his first hit song 'Shivers' for his band The Birthday Party at the age of sixteen. His good friend Nick Cave is the lead singer of the band. Even then, young Howard, always clad in tight black clothes, is an iconic figure, inseparable from his Fender Jaguar. He is fiery, spirited and emaciated. After The Birthday Party and These Immortal Souls, he throws himself quite literally into his solo career, which is bursting with breaks - presumably because of his heroin addiction. In October 2009, ten years after the release of his first solo album, his second album will be released. Three months later, the artist succumbs to cancer. Shortly after the tragic end of this legend, filmmakers Richard Lowenstein and Lynn-Maree Milburn decide to turn Howard's life into a 'rockumentary'.
