Auf Umwegen plot

In early April 2022, the young family of Timo Götz and Salima Oudefel set off from Germany on an adventurous journey that is initially marked by discoveries and inspiring encounters. They travel through different countries, meet friendly people and enjoy being on the road. When Salima becomes pregnant, they continue their journey and eventually reach India, where she gives birth to their child. But what began as a peaceful adventure turns into a nightmare: the Indian authorities suspect the family of illegal surrogacy and refuse to let them leave the country. In a nerve-wracking ten-month battle, they try to prove their innocence and find a way out of this hopeless situation.
