Archipels Nitrate plot

A fascinating investigation into the memories of cinema, made in honor of the 70th anniversary of Cinematek in Brussels. The film offers a unique, poetic tour of a film collection. It gives a bird's eye view of film history: documentary images are interspersed with famous feature film fragments, from Chaplin to Fassbinder. By combining scenes from very different periods, Pazienza raises questions about the way in which these images are anchored in our collective memory and how they evoke other images.
