Angola: Saudades de Quem Te Ama plot
Portrait of a country trying to heal the wounds of 27 years of civil war. Namibian filmmaker Richard Papekkla takes the viewer on a lyrical journey through a torn country with poignant contrasts between rich and poor, between hope and despair. The kaleidoscope shows the extremes of the oil barons who rob the country of its natural wealth to the petroleum-snorting street children, from luxurious residences and exclusive shopping centers to images of rubble and decay. A soundtrack of both rural and urban songs reflects the mood of the residents. The word 'saudade' covers that charge: a longing for something beloved that has been lost but can come back in the distant future.
