Amanecer plot

In this award-winning directorial debut, Carmen Torres – who can often be found in front of the camera – interweaves the stories of both her mothers. The mother she grew up with in Spain, and the Colombian mother who gave her up for adoption after birth. More than twenty years after the sudden death of her Spanish mother, Carmen goes in search of her biological mother for the first time. She interweaves that search and acquaintance with her now clear, sometimes faded memories of the mother she knew and loved so well.
