Am Seidenen Faden plot

In May 1998 the young composer Boris Baberkoff proposes to his girlfriend Katarina Peters, eight years his senior. They have only known each other for a short time, but are madly in love. They inspire each other, compliment each other and want to start a new life together in Berlin. After their wedding, Katarina sells her business and buys Boris a grand piano. A few months later they stay with artist friends in New York. Suddenly Boris has to throw up. He collapses and ends up in a coma in the intensive care unit. Doctors tell Katarina that her beloved's brain has been damaged in the brainstem after several consecutive strokes. Should Boris survive, it is unclear whether he will ever walk or speak again. Katarina clings to her camera and meticulously records the events that follow.
