Alles Goed plot

Natasha, Svitlana and Zoia fled the war in Ukraine and are being cared for in a renovated office building in Weesp. In this shelter, the kitchen is their refuge and a connection to home. Cooking and eating gives them comfort, because the women share a great sorrow with each other: the loss of their homeland. But even stronger is the loss of their families and their traditional role as grandmothers. They long for contact with family members who are still behind in Ukraine, are afraid and worried about the men fighting at the front and mourn for loved ones who were killed in the battle against Russia.

The lives of a group of Ukrainian refugees at the Van Hounte Industrial Park Shelter in Weesp are focused on the female residents of various ages. One has lost a son in combat, another worries about her husband fighting on the front lines, and a teenager seeks connection with these women. This sense of connection and solidarity among the women is strengthened by their gratitude for the way they were received in the Netherlands. Ultimately, they want nothing more than to return to their own homes in their own countries. A touch manipulative at the most emotional moments, but otherwise, this is a fascinating, compelling look behind the scenes at the reception of "wanted" refugees.
