Al-Houbut plot

Drifting desert sand, abandoned household goods and experimental sounds form the raw material for this unique project, which seems to be a cross between landscape art and musical performance. Filmmaker and photographer Akram Zaatari was inspired by an alienating location he found in Sharjah, one of the Arab Emirates. The houses that were built here in the 1980s for a Bedouin tribe have now been abandoned and half swallowed by the desert.
