Ah plot
When the ceasefire between the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) and the Turkish army ends in October 2015, several democratic institutions (trade unions, political parties and guilds) decide to organize a peace march. But before it can kick off in Ankara on the morning of October 10, two suspected IS-affiliated suicide bombers blow themselves up in the midst of a large group of demonstrators. It is the deadliest bomb attack in Turkish history (more than 100 dead and 500 injured). Using twenty-five eyewitness accounts, many of whom lost several loved ones in the attack, filmmaker Mustafa Ünlü examines what exactly happened that day, and also highlights the longer-term effects of exposure to such a violent attack.
