1001 Days plot
In the township of Alexandra in Johannesburg, unemployment, poverty, disease and (domestic) violence are commonplace. Young mothers, who often have to raise their children alone and are constantly trying to survive, hardly have time for themselves and their babies, while the first 1001 days after conception are crucial for the development of their child. A group of women from the Ububele Home Visiting program, themselves from Alexandra, are therefore committed to changing the fate of the neighborhood by improving the mental well-being of mothers and their babies. They do this by having conversations with them and providing them with advice.
