While New York Sleeps plot
New York newspaper publisher Charles MacFarland is frantic when his star reporter Barney Callahan insists on vacationing with his photographer Snapper Doolan while he's in the middle of an ongoing story of stolen bonds and murders. When Barney's friend, the insurance inspector Steve Martin, is shot, Barney returns to work because Martin was also involved in the bond case. Detective Cliff Collins claims Martin committed suicide, but Barney is determined to prove it was murder.
