A gangster gang commits a series of daring heists. A police officer investigating the case appears to have committed suicide, but crime writer and amateur detective Paul Temple suspects he was killed. With the help of the victim's sister, journalist Louise Harvey, Paul tracks down the infamous diamond robbers.
