My Buddy plot
"NEW LOVES in an aftermath of war!"
Father Jim Donnelly travels from Chicago to Washington DC to testify before Senator Bill Henry's Post-War Planning Committee. On November 11, 1918, Eddie and his friend Spots find themselves stranded on the battlefield as they are held at gunpoint in their trench by a German sniper. Spots sings 'My Buddy' to ease their nerves, but when he stands up, the sniper shoots him and kills him. But before Eddie can fire back, he gets the message that the war is over…
