Mlcení Muzu plot

Twelve-year-old Standa is bored. He would like to play outside, but it is pouring with rain. When he wants to borrow an umbrella from his neighbour, the old postman Skvor, he finds it dead and hanged. The boy's open mouth is almost immediately covered by the hand of a basket hidden behind the door. He introduces himself as Mirek, says he has nothing to do with Skvor's death and begs the boy not to betray him.
