Lokval in Venesië plot

South Africa's new ambassador in Monaco, Alwyn van der Hoven, is traveling to his post by ship. His cheerful mood regularly makes the whole ship sing. However, thieves are at work, stealing jewelry from other guests and placing homemade evidence in other people's property. They don't even shy away from a murder. The ambassador, who is actually Captain Markham, has little success discovering the culprits, not least because of his lavish singing and the many women he seduces. Having just arrived in Venice, the policeman in him resurfaces.
