Lady from Nowhere plot
Polly Dunlop is a manicurist at a New York hotel. Polly is the only witness to a murder committed by the gangster gang led by Ed Lustig. Fearing retaliation from Lustig, Polly takes the bus to Boston, but gets off in the Connecticut town of Clearview when she sees a hotel guest on the bus. Under a pseudonym, Polly finds work as a waitress and befriends schoolteacher Earl Daniels. When journalist Marty discovers Blake Polly, she asks Earl, who is in love with her, for help.
