Hell's Highway plot
"Right here in America... and don't you forget it!"
Frank "Duke" Ellis works as a chained prisoner constructing a highway. The prisoners are treated badly by the guards. When one of them is locked up in the "sweathouse" as punishment and dies, Duke plans an escape. As this plan is carried out, his brother Johnny arrives at the camp as a prisoner. Duke has promised his mother to look after his little brother, so he decides to stay and does everything he can to keep his brother out of the hands of the ruthless guards.
