Dossier 137 plot

Stéphanie is a detective in the General Inspectorate of the National Police (IGPN). For her next case, she tackles file 137. At first glance, it seems similar to many other cases she has handled. However, an unexpected element emerges that will keep Stéphanie busy for a long time.

Due to the high number of incidents during the "yellow vest" protests in Paris, the IGPN—the "police of the police"—is incredibly busy. Former drug officer Stéphanie [Léa Drucker] investigates an incident in which protester Guillaume Girad [Côme Péronnet] suffered serious and permanent injuries after an officer hit him in the head with a riot gun. By highlighting the administrative and bureaucratic burdens involved in such an investigation, he infuses it with a unique level of realism. He demonstrates the dedication of the officers involved, but also makes clear why the work is so difficult. Citizens accuse them of nepotism, while police unions regard them as traitors if they accuse their colleagues. Not a frame is wasted in this gripping crime drama. The final monologues between Léa Drucker and the real Guillaume Giard are unforgettable.

A magnificent film in which a detective investigates police violence during a demonstration. The film is set during the 'Yellow Vest' protests in Paris. Realistically and at the same time intensely portrayed. Not only fascinating to see how the investigation progresses, but also because of the role of the police in society.

I don't understand something. Someone calls this a bit of a minor incident. I absolutely cannot understand this at all. If you did see the end of the film, then you know that this isn't about a minor incident. Several people have already commented on that, but I thought I'd say it again anyway.

This is about yet another instance of police brutality and what is done about it. Fantastic acting by Drucker and Turnbull, who was also fantastic in Sambre...
