Die Letzte Instanz plot

Before the Berlin regional court, Margarethe Altenburg fires a number of shots at the homeless Hellmer. Miraculously, the former truck driver is unharmed and is able to flee. Lawyer Joachim Vernau spontaneously offers himself as a defender of the old woman from Görlitz. Under the guise of dizziness during the assassination attempt, he has her temporarily hospitalized. Vernau travels to her hometown to pick up a few items from her apartment. Moreover, he hopes to find evidence of a motive there. Because more than a 'he has earned it' cannot be extracted from Altenburg.
