Casbah plot

"Den of a thousand thieves ! Rendezvous for romance !"

Pepe Le Moko is leader of a gang of thieves in the Casbah of Algiers. He fled there to avoid captivity in his home country of France. Detective Slimane tries to lure him out of the Casbah so he can be arrested. When Pepe's friend Inez sees that Pepe has fallen in love with Gaby, a beautiful tourist, she follows her to Europe. Slimane sees this as an opportunity to catch Pepe.
