Blaze o' Glory plot

Eddie Williams, on trial for the murder of Carl Hummel, tells his story just before the First World War. Eddie, a star on Broadway, marries Helen and almost immediately after that he goes to the front. He saves the life of a German soldier (Carl Hummel), but cannot find work when he returns from the war. Helen does find a job, however, and Eddie grows increasingly despondent. One day he catches Helen in Hummel's arms and in his rage Eddie shoots him.
