Behind the Headlines plot

American Paul Banner was a reporter in London. He recently left his newspaper and started his own business so he can focus more on finding facts and selling his stories as soon as he gets them. When dancer Nina Duke is murdered, the press bombards the police with statements and facts, but Banner stays aloof and does some work of his own to uncover the story. Nina, it turns out, was previously in prison for blackmail, so it's possible that's why she was killed.
