Mike and his girlfriend Amy are at the cinema watching the horror movie "Zombie Town". Then the characters suddenly jump out of the screen, after which the inhabitants of the town turn into zombies. It's now up to Mike and Amy to save the inhabitants.

Even if you're a fan of Aykroyd or Chase, because they hardly have any screen time. And the rest of the film is just complete garbage. The only joke that works a bit is Ms. Bonnard - Miss Boneyard, but she is milked way too much. Just so you know what the level is.

Film adaptation of RL Stine's book, who during his career mainly focused on the younger audience for his horror adventures. Zombie Town is no exception and so this film by director Peter Lepeniotis is on the safe and well-behaved side. The event does have a nice concept, in which a haunted film disc causes chaos. Unfortunately, this whole thing never reaches the scale it hopes to reach and the zombies look rather cheap and unfinished. The acting is not bad, but in the case of Dan Aykroyd and Chevy Chase, viewers will have to settle for minuscule supporting roles that barely influence the progression of the story. Funny scenes and nice ideas here and there, but there is little freshness or energy to be noticed here. In some respects, the tone is reminiscent of Spirit Halloween.
