Jasper Jones becomes a millionaire overnight after hitting oil. Jasper's fiancé Evelyn Smythe, who likes rich men, and her mother and brother Reggie, look forward to a future of luxury and debt-free. On the day of his wedding, Jasper is on his way to Evelyn and her family for lunch. Along the way, Jasper has an unexpected encounter with the bootlegger Mrs. Hawkins, who makes her deliveries with the pram that also contains her stepdaughter Pudge. Mrs. Hawkins pretends that Jasper hit this pram in hopes of getting some money from him, but then a police officer shows up…
