The party has just begun for the sweet-natured chartered accountant Bruce Blakely, when he finds himself overwhelmed by his lazy family and his domineering boss. Bruce despairs of ever having good times again. Even his budding romance with Ruth Walker is threatened by his spongy relatives, who even demand that he pump extra money into his sister Phyllis' marriage to the good-for-nothing Martin. Bruce will have to actively do something for a more pleasant life...
