Ann Brooks married her dance partner Maurice years ago at a young age. However, they soon broke up. Ann is now dating wealthy millionaire Schuyler Brooks. When she is about to marry him, she discovers that her divorce from Maurice is still pending. She confronts him about this and he makes it clear that he does not want to divorce her. Ann now, together with Schuyler's sister Portia, devises a ruse to get her way.
