Billy Austin was part of the crew of a plane until it crashed over the sea during a storm. In the hospital, his captain gives him a watch with the inscription ''It Shall Be Done''. Due to the fact that his leg had to be amputated, he is honorably discharged by the Navy. Because he has knowledge of lumber, he goes to work for a company that trades in it. He is given the thankless task of selling the usually unsaleable part of the wood and succeeds wonderfully. He even becomes the company's best salesperson. Billy also has a crush on the boss's daughter and wants to marry her.
