Monty Crandall is a commercial artist who has ridiculed the widow in her eyes with a caricature of her on a magazine cover and she is suing him. Monty's problems are compounded when the beautiful and married Phyllis Beecher takes an interest in him and her jealous and gun-toting husband blames him for her advances.
