The Darwin Awards plot
"A comedy... to die for."
The film refers to the 'Tongue-in-cheek Internet Award' or 'Darwin-Award' (a sort of mocking, ironic trophy), given to those who maim themselves or even die from gigantic stupidity. This often posthumous honor is designed because with the death of those responsible, the human 'genetic pool' is continually being improved for future generations. Michael Burrows is a forensic detective who, with his partner Siri, an insurance claims adjuster, goes on a road trip to establish the profile of a potential 'Darwin Award' winner.
