The Bowery plot
The Bowery is a rough neighborhood in 1890's New York where Chuck Connors, a bar owner, and Steve Brodie, a tough daredevil, are rivals. Both men fall in love with Lucy Calhoun, but Brodie wins her over. Connors is furious and challenges Brodie to prove his love by jumping off the Brooklyn Bridge. However, Brodie hires a replacement and makes a bet that will allow him to win Connors' bar.
