The Book That Wrote Itself plot

"Wanted: Filmmaker to document mad and amusing novel on video. Will pay a small fee."

Vincent Macken has written his most important work, but nobody wants to publish it. To prove to the publishers that his novel is a genius, he decides to imitate the story of the novel itself. He hires a filmmaker to help him capture his experiences on film. When almost the entire story of the novel has been captured, he decides that maybe it should just be a movie.
