What a disappointment. The original was still nice and light with quite nice humor and its gore moments. Above all, the chemistry between Bee and Cole was spot on. This sequel completely misses the point by going way too over the top and getting on the nerves of most of the cast members.

The story is uninspired. The cast from the first part was not so memorable that they had to be in the sequel. McG had better go for a new cast here and leave the plot a bit more believable. Unfortunately, the twisted plot fits the film's approach, ridiculously bland. You just feel like watching a new Scary Movie. The jokes are really cringe-inducing, with one exception and the film is far too self-conscious. Subtlety is strange to McG.

Fortunately, the few gore moments are successful, despite the present CGI. The film also takes too long, although the ending makes up for it a little bit in which the chemistry between Cole and Bee is clearly present again. No more babysitters for me.

The first film was a wonderful horror comedy. Surprising with the right dose of some suspense and funny enough. Part 2 doesn't have much new to tell actually and really feels like the obligatory sequel. Despite the return of the entire cast, everyone is a bit lost. Before that you still had the tension between Cole and Bee with the rest as minor characters. Now it is not clear who is pulling the lot, other than Cole who is less engaging. There is still some fun, but less than before. Too bad, because given part 1 a sequel could have worked.

Thought it was an entertaining movie. Still had to laugh a few times and it was of course good again. The blood is splashing again and also a funny choice of music. Thought it was a nice ending, although you never know with the last scene. Still, it was nice to see the cast participating again, although it was of course not so innovative anymore.

It's not high-end cinema, but it certainly didn't bore me.
