Spotlight Sadie plot
Sadie Sullivan leaves Ireland to live with her married sister in New York. Harassed by her worthless brother-in-law and discouraged by her low-paying retail job, Sadie reads a story about a chorus girl who marries a millionaire and decides to join a musical comedy company. After befriending missionary preacher John Page, Sadie reads a Bible backstage and is surprised by the other girls' loose morals. Her "saintly" reputation inspires press agent Jack Mills, seeking a new perspective, to create a routine around Sadie, now known as "The Saintly Show Girl."
