Alejandro and his loyal friend Canicas are hardworking mariachi singers seeking fame in Mexico City. In addition to his job as a singer, Alejandro is also a single father. When he tries to obtain a visa for his young daughter to visit her grandparents in the US, his application is flatly refused by the young employee Rachel. Later that night, Alejandro and Canicas meet Rachel at a party because of her promotion to a position in London. Alejandro decides to take his chance to make her change her mind.
