Polly Ann plot

In rural New Hampshire, orphan Polly Ann leaves the farm to work in the village tavern run by Jud Simpkins. When a traveling theater company comes to town, actor Hubert de Courcey convinces Polly Ann to become an actress and go with them. Village teacher Howard Straightlane intervenes and takes Polly Ann under his wing.
