Pie in the Sky plot
"The only thing that stands in the way of fate and true love is a little traffic."
Charlie Dunlap was fascinated by traffic as a child. He tried to follow the traffic from his room and to make all kinds of graphs and predictions. As a young man he does indeed come to work for the radio as a traffic jam newsman. He also meets the expressive Amy with whom he falls in love, but she leaves for a faraway school. Later, Charlie gets the chance to handle the chaotic traffic in LA and work for his idol Alan Davenport.
