Novia Que Te Vea plot
The story is set in the 1960s within the small Jewish community of Mexico City. A young woman rebels against her parents' conservative views on women and their potential for self-fulfillment. Her parents, Turkish-Jewish immigrants, believe that a girl's only career is to get married, while she aspires to become an artist and is not interested in playing the bride. They briefly compromise when she announces her engagement to a young Jewish doctor, but the conflict returns when she breaks off the engagement. In the meantime, she has a girlfriend of Eastern European Jewish descent: her life is much freer, but she too is able to shock her parents when she starts a relationship with a sensitive boy who is active in progressive political circles.
