Monrak Transistor plot

Sadaw and Phaen grow up together in a small Thai village. Much against her father's will, the beautiful Sadaw marries her naive childhood sweetheart Phaen. Nothing seems to stand in the way of their love anymore, but then Phaen has to report to the army. From that moment on, everything goes wrong. Phaen wants to become a famous singer, runs away from the army and puts his fate in the hands of an untrustworthy impresario. He grows further and further away from his beloved Sadaw, and there is no turning back.
