Martha & Tommy plot
In Hamburg, the single Martha takes care of the children in the neighborhood with great dedication and is supported in this by ex-boxer Max. One day, taciturn Tommy Skagen and his eight-year-old brother Winnie move in with Martha. Tommy studies law, but is often out at night, leaving his brother alone. He participates in illegal mixed martial arts competitions, in which the participants enter the fight without boxing gloves or protective clothing. He likes the adrenaline and needs the money too.
