Les Deux Timides plot
Garadoux assaulted his wife. His lawyer Fremissin is young and shy and therefore not very efficient in his defense. Garadoux ends up in prison. Two years later, Fremissin falls in love with the beautiful Cécile and tries to win her over. But Garadoux is now free again and now a widower. And he of all people has asked Cécile's father, also a timid man who dares not refuse anything, for his daughter's hand.
