Administrative officer Karin, in his mid-thirties and divorced for a long time, lives alone with her 16-year-old daughter Nora. She gets used to it, and especially can't live without the independence. Her new boyfriend on the other hand, the mathematician Peter, wants to get married. Karin finds excuses, puts her daughter first and says she can't handle a change in her life. But Peter is stubborn and so Karin comes up with a somewhat unexpected plan: Peter must approach Nora, win her sympathy and be invited by her, and then fall in love with the mother. Not only does Nora see through this weird plan, but she also has her own love problems.
