La Smala plot

A fatherless 'family' from the province has five children - aged four to sixteen. Mother Simone is an ex-rock star from the 1960s and 1970s and her fifty-year-old boyfriend Robert is an unemployed accordion virtuoso. They end up with Simone's sister Rita who is the lady of the cloakroom in a cheap dance tent. Rita welcomes the couple with open arms on sixty square meters. Robert goes looking for his ex without telling the others. Problems arise with the not gentle police. They live on the fringe of subsistence in Paris until they win the lotto and laze about in sunny Provence, in southeastern France.
