Barbara, an LA actress eager to make it to Hollywood, has a volatile relationship with Richard, the local gravedigger and obituary writer for the local newspaper, while staying in a charming northern English village. Back in LA, working as a waitress in a Japanese restaurant, she tells everyone about the handsome "writer" she met. But Richard decides to follow her to Hollywood, so that they meet again. Meanwhile, he also learns how things work in Hollywood.
