Kommen Sie am Ersten plot

"Come back to the first" is what many a bailiff hears when they ring the doorbells of people with debts. Gustav Schäfer is a bailiff and married to Gitta. He knows how to treat people, such as the young composer Bruno Freyburg, who meets his wife by chance and falls for her. Inge Imhoff, a saleswoman in a shop, is in danger of losing her job because customers do not pay their bills. She decides to go door to door herself to collect the money for her boss and unexpectedly receives help from the experienced Schäfer.
