Knots plot
Miriam has been divorced three times in her life and has a daughter from each ex-husband. She earns her living planning weddings. Lily, Miriam's eldest daughter, declines her boyfriend's marriage request. She returns to her family in Hawaii and hopes she can find some support from them. When they also turn out to have problems, Lily makes an effort to help them.
